In sticking its middle finger up at Baselworld, SIHH has claimed some pretty impressive newcomers for 2018, few more so than Hermès. They might be a fashion powerhouse first and watchmaker second, but you wouldn’t know it from the ultra-cool Carré H.
Hermès has always had a mild watch presence, but the new piece shows they’re taking it more seriously than ever, remaking their most recognisable timepiece into a modern, masculine design. The revamp was done by its original creator, design guru Marc Berthier and so far, we’re impressed.
Deceptively minimal with a mix of polished and sandblasted finishes and guilloche dial around Hermès’ own H1912 self-winding movement, there’s a lot to love about the new Carré H. Now we just want to see more of it.
